Back in the 2018 season, the Ohio State football team arrived in West Lafayette as the second-ranked team in the country. The Buckeyes were undefeated and were hoping to keep their chances of playing for a national championship alive. Purdue was standing in their way.

Dwayne Haskins ended up setting the single-game passing record for the Ohio State Buckeyes in that game, but Purdue crushed Ohio State 49-20. It was a game that was never close, as the Boilermakers pulled a major upset in that game, much to the joy of Purdue fans.

Rondale Moore was the offensive catalyst in that game, catching 12 passes for 170 yards and two touchdowns. Unfortunately, Haskins passed away a few years later after a tragic traffic accident. Now, Moore has passed away as well in an incredibly sad event.

Ohio State killer Rondale Moore sadly passes away

According to multiple reports, Moore passed away on Saturday. Moore was just 25 years old, which is just a year older than Haskins was when he left us. As of this publication, there is no official cause of death released for Moore's death. He had just joined the Minnesota Vikings in the offseason.

Moore was a second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft despite being just 5'7. His speed terrorized defenses in college football, as Ohio State could attest to. Unfortunately for Moore, he was never able to find the same kind of success in the NFL, a lot like Haskins.

It's shocking that the two most prominent players from that historic game in 2018 are no longer with us. Both Haskins and Moore seemed poised to turn their NFL careers around in new spots before the opportunity was ripped away from them.

Our hearts go out to Moore's family and friends, as we know just how painful a loss like this can be.
