Ohio State football fans have had to listen to Michigan fans all offseason talk about how good true freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood is. The number-one player in the 2025 recruiting class has a shot to start for TTUN this year, but it's still not a foregone conclusion.
It doesn't seem like Jadyn Davis is ready to start for them either, based on the reports coming out about what they are looking to add to their roster. It looks like TTUN is the favorite to bring in Jake Garcia, a transfer portal QB from East Carolina.
Garcia has taken snaps for two different programs, playing at both ECU and Miami. He has more interceptions in his career than he does touchdowns, throwing 16 of those to just 15 touchdowns. Yet, Michigan seems intent on bringing him in to compete for the starting job.
Ohio State football fans laugh as Michigan looks to bring in has-been QB to compete with Bryce Underwood
If Underwood really is as good as every Michigan fan is claiming that he is? Why do they need to bring someone who isn't good enough to have a positive TD/INT ratio at a G6 school? It seems that they don't think he's as good as fans have been hyping him up to be so far this offseason.
Ohio State football fans have been making that same point on social media all day. Fans of the Ohio State Buckeyes know that this debate will only matter if the Buckeyes are able to beat TTUN this season and break their losing streak. That's not the only way this gets settled, though.
Tavien St. Clair was the number-two overall recruit in the 2025 class. If he turns out to be a better quarterback than Underwood, then Ohio State fans win the argument. That won't get figured out until a few years down the line. If Ohio State does pound Underwood, that'll change it, too.
