The Ohio State football program has a track record of recruiting some of the best quarterbacks in the country. Over the past few years, they have been able to land top recruits at the quarterback position. Julian Sayin, Kyle McCord, and Quinn Ewers all played for the Buckeyes.

Ohio State is hoping to land another great quarterback. One of the best quarterbacks in the class of 2026 just de-committed from Georgia and has the Buckeyes on his new list of teams. That quarterback is Jared Curtis. Curtis is listed as the best QB in the 2026 class and the sixth-best player overall.

Curtis just de-committed from Georgia and now has several schools that he is looking into. The Ohio State football program is one of those schools. The other schools on his list are Alabama, Clemson, Oregon, USC, and South Carolina. These are schools he says "stand out".

Curtis has all of the tools to be a great quarterback. He is listed at 6'4 and 224 pounds, so he has the ideal size for a quarterback. He loves to throw the deep ball and does a good job of connecting on those deep shots as well. Curtis doesn't just have a powerful arm though, he has touch too.

Right now, Curtis does not have a visit set up with the Ohio State Buckeyes. His class is still over a year from needing to make a commitment decision. With that comes a whole host of challenges. Ohio State is going to need to recruit him hard over that timeframe.

Programs will likely be using a contract to sign players by the time 2026 rolls around. That will change how NIL compensation is earned. There also could be a new coach at Ohio State in place by then if Ryan Day doesn't start winning some big things. The bottom line is that 2026 is a long time from now.
