Three coaches the Ohio State football program should replace Ryan Day with

3. Brian Hartline
There is only one guy on the current staff who should be considered as a leader of this program and that's Brian Hartline. Hartline is consistently one of the best recruiters in the country. He brings in five-star receivers with regularity. He's the reason why Ohio State's passing game is so deadly most years.
Hartline is a Buckeye through and through. He played receiver for the program under Jim Tressel from 2005-2008. He's been a coach with the Buckeyes since 2017. Quite frankly, he's the most valuable assistant that the Buckeyes have in their program right now.
The rub on Hartline is that he doesn't have prior head coaching experience. Not only that, but he has never called plays before. He's the co-offensive coordinator this season only in name. Chip Kelly really coordinates the offense. Still, he does an excellent job coaching the receivers.
Hartline is someone that the Buckeyes have to keep on staff regardless of what happens moving forward with the head coaching position. While he would be an unorthodox choice to lead the Ohio State football program, he's someone who certainly knows the importance of beating TTUN.
Of the coaches I've listed here, Hartline should be the last choice. All I know is that this program can't hit its ceiling under Ryan Day.
