The Ohio State football program is having a strong NFL Combine. Several players have had strong performances during the NFL Combine. Quite frankly, it has been a strong Combine for both the players at the top of the draft and the ones who are trying to make rosters at the bottom.
Lorenzo Styles ran an incredibly fast 40-yard dash to give him a shot to be a late draft pick. His speed is going to give him a shot to be drafted, even if he ends up just mainly being a special teams guy while he fights for future playing time at the cornerback position.
His brother had one of the greatest Combine performances of any of the Buckeyes to run through these drills in modern history. Sonny Styles was already projected to be a first-round pick, but he has now improved his stock to the point where he could possibly be a top-10 pick.
Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles has improved his stock more than any other Ohio State player
Styles' incredible showing with his vertical jump, 40-yard dash, and his measurables all give him an excellent shot to move into a top-10 pick. He's an athletic freak who showed under Matt Patricia that he can rush the passer, stop the run, and drop back in coverage.
Any team that decides to draft him is going to be very happy with their decision, even if they take him in the top ten. If Arvell Reese weren't his teammate, he'd be the top linebacker coming into this draft. Reese is his own brand of freak, and he has a chance to be a top-three pick.
Still, Styles did his absolute best to show what he can do. If he decided not to participate in the Ohio State Buckeyes' Pro Day in April, it wouldn't be shocking. That's how impressive his performance over the last couple of days has been.
