The Ohio State football team will have a ton of players hoping to get drafted this weekend. In fact, there is a chance that 15 of them get selected. That doesn't mean that all of them are getting the appropriate amount of attention for what they have been able to accomplish.

It looks like there will only be one first-round pick from the Buckeyes this season, and that will be Josh Simmons. Emeka Egbuka has a shot to be taken late in the first round, but Simmons is the only sure-fire first-round guy. A lot of other Ohio State Buckeyes are flying under the radar.

One Buckeye is flying under the radar more than others. That player is linebacker Cody Simon. Simon is someone who was one of the key defensive players in the national championship run. He was also a team captain. Yet, he is still the most underrated draft prospect from the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Ohio State football player Cody Simon is the most underrated Buckeye in the NFL Draft

Simon finished last season with 112 tackles, seven sacks, one forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. Simon played five years with the Buckeyes and definitely made the last one count. It was by far his best year wearing an Ohio State uniform, but it was his fifth year.

Perhaps that's why Simon isn't higher on mock draft boards. Simon has been widely seen as a fourth or fifth-round pick. His production last season would indicate that he should be more of a third-round pick. He's a potential future starter if he goes to the right team.

Simon will have a chance to prove teams wrong if he is selected that late. He's a really good player who showed that he can be a very productive player in the right scheme with the right players around him.
