This game could seal the Ohio State football team winning the Joe Moore Award
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team has a big game this weekend. They take on an Indiana team that is ranked in the top five. The Hoosiers haven't lost a game yet this season. IU comes in off a bye week and is ready to show that they should be taken seriously as a CFP threat.
Ryan Day's Ohio State Buckeyes are tasked with making sure that doesn't happen. They have to do it without the services of Seth McLaughlin, who tore his Achilles during practice. Now, the Buckeyes have two starting offensive linemen who are out for the year.
Because of the newest injury up front, the Buckeyes now have to reshuffle the offensive line again. It will be Carson Hinzman at center and Austin Siereveld at left guard. Ohio State will need elite offensive line play. If they get it, their line could win a major award at the end of the year.
The Ohio State football team could seal Joe Moore Award with strong performance vs. IU
If the Buckeyes can push around the Hoosiers and win this game by at least double-digits, there's a good chance the offensive line can seal up the Joe Moore Award. That award is given to the best offensive line in the country. Ohio State has a chance to show their depth.
Ohio State has had a lot of different players start up front for them this season. If they can show the depth that they have, with all of the injuries they've had to deal with, no other team can match that. Ohio State has never won this award before and this would be a very surprising year to win it.
Beating Indiana is the top priority for the team, no matter how they do it. Whether or not the Buckeyes are able to do it via the run or the passing game makes no difference to them. The offensive line will play a big part either way.
