The Ohio State football program didn't lose a lot of players in the transfer portal this Fall. While they did lose some players, none of them were starters. There weren't many players who were going to find their way onto the field, anyway. The Buckeyes weren't expected to lose a ton of guys this Spring, either.
Ohio State only had a few players who were candidates to leave in the Spring portal. Not a lot of players were expected to leave after the Buckeyes won the national championship, and that has been the case. So far, the Ohio State Buckeyes have only lost one player.
That player was Anthony Venneri, who was the third-string punter. The Buckeyes weren't going to start him either, so it was wise for him to leave. Lincoln Kienholz was the big name to watch in the portal, but it seems like he is going to stay with Ohio State.

Of course, the Buckeyes still have time to enter the portal for the next few days. It doesn't close until next week. There might be some guys who feel that they could get better playing time elsewhere, but I wouldn't be shocked if they only lost one or two guys.
By and large, the roster that we saw during the Spring Game is the roster that will be here during the Fall. This team is ready to defend the national championship that they won last season. It's clear that most of these players want to stay and play for Ryan Day.
Day has done a great job of creating a culture that plays for each other. These players don't want to abandon ship, so that's why this team feels so great about their chances to repeat.
