The Ohio State football program has been heating up on the recruiting trail in the last few weeks. Prior to the Spring Game, which takes place next weekend, the Buckeyes have been landing some really solid recruits. That includes the best safety in the country for the 2026 class.

Ohio State continues to keep its recruiting momentum going. They have now landed another top-100 player in the 2026 class. The Buckeyes have now landed four-star safety recruit Simeon Caldwell out of the state of Arizona. He becomes the second safety for the Ohio State Buckeyes in this class.

The Buckeyes have continued to excel at recruiting during this Spring period. Getting Caldwell is great for the Buckeyes to add more depth at safety. He stands at 6'3 and 185 pounds and really uses his body well. He chose Ohio State over some of the best programs in the country.

Caldwell chose the Buckeyes over USC, Notre Dame, and Miami. Those are some great college football programs. To have another safety choose Ohio State is good news for them. Caldwell is someone who can play next to Blaine Bradford as well in a couple of years.

Ohio State has started stacking up recruits in the last few weeks. They now have nine commitments for their 2026 class. Ohio State has slowly been rising up the recruiting rankings too. They now sit at fifth in the rankings with a lot of time left for them to increase that ranking.

Ryan Day is hoping to land a few more impact players before the summer arrives. He is hoping to have another stellar recruiting class. He has not signed a single class that hasn't been in the top five since he's been the head coach.
