The Ohio State football program has had to replace three key members of their coaching staff very early after their national championship. Ryan Day had to hire a new offensive and defensive coordinator, as well as a new offensive line coach. Those were the hires he had to make.

There are new NCAA rules that don't limit the number of coaches that a college football program can have on the sidelines during games. The Buckeyes have started to take advantage of that new rule. In fact, the Ohio State Buckeyes have decided to hire a few new analysts.

Ohio State is doing the best that it can do to hire some good coaches as analysts for the upcoming season. In fact, they are hiring three new coaches to help with their operations. Day has decided to hire Charlie Dickey, Marcus Johnson, and Wendy Laurent to their staff.

The Ohio State football program has hired three new coaches

Dickey is the former Utah, Oklahoma State, and Kansas state offensive line coach. He will be hired in a senior analyst role. Adding him to the staff to work with Tyler Bowen is a smart move. Bowen hasn't been a pure offensive line coach for quite a while. Pairing him with Dickey is a smart move.

Johnson has been around the block. He was the former offensive line coach at Purdue, Missouri, and Mississippi State. Adding him and Dickey to the staff to help Bowen is very smart by Day. While Bowen is known as a strong recruiter, his development isn't quite as strong. This move helps that.

Ohio State is also hiring Laurent, who was previously the associate head coach and tight ends coach at Dartmouth. He is also an ex-Penn State offensive lineman, so he knows how things operate in the Big Ten. Again, adding more offensive line help isn't bad.

It wouldn't be surprising to see Day do something similar with the defense and just load up on a bunch of analysts. The Buckeyes have the resources to add them, so why shouldn't they? Ohio State is doing this right.
