The Ohio State football program has had a lot of coaching turnover this offseason. When you win a national championship, that tends to happen. A lot of other programs want to take your coaches. The Buckeyes are perfectly willing to pay that cost of success.

Ohio State has added plenty of coaches in the last few weeks. They added three analysts on the offensive side of the ball to help Tyler Bowen with the offensive line. They also added Tony Washington Jr. as the assistant defensive line coach to help out Larry Johnson.

The Buckeyes weren't done adding staff members. They added another member to the coaching staff on Tuesday morning, bringing back an old friend. After coaching the UAB defensive line for the last couple of seasons, the Buckeyes brought back Miguel Patrick.

Patrick was previously a quality control coach for the Ohio State Buckeyes before joining UAB's staff a couple of seasons ago. Now, Ohio State has brought him back as a defensive quality assistant coach. The Buckeyes are smartly loading up on coaches on both sides of the ball.

With the new rules no longer capping the number of part-time coaches you can have, the Buckeyes are doing a good job of adding coaches who can help the program move forward. It's smart of Ryan Day to add as many analysts as he can to help his new coordinators adjust to their roles.

It wouldn't be surprising if the Buckeyes decided to add a few more analysts or quality control coaches before they start Spring ball. Day has been very active looking at the coaching circles around the country and getting guys who fit his culture.

If Ohio State has finished hiring coaches, that wouldn't be super shocking either. They have plenty of guys that they feel comfortable with heading into the 2025 season.
