The Ohio State basketball team and Indiana both came into Friday night's game desperately needing a win. Both teams came in having lost two straight games. For the Buckeyes, they needed a win to give themselves a shot at making the NCAA Tournament.

It looked good in the first half. The Buckeyes held a six-point lead at halftime after playing some solid defense. Ohio State was taking good shots, some of them just weren't going in. The start of the second half was a different story as IU got up double-digits.

The Ohio State Buckeyes fought back to tie it at 71 with 34 seconds left in the game after John Mobley Jr. hit a big three. The game ended up going into overtime, the second time in four games that the Buckeyes had an overtime game. It didn't matter, as the Buckeyes lost 77-76 to IU.

Mobley Jr. had a huge game. He had 22 points on 7-17 shooting, including five three-pointers. The last play of the game was drawn up for him, and he wasn't able to execute. The ball bounced out to Bruce Thornton, who had a good look that didn't go in.

This is the loss that could end up causing the Buckeyes' season to slip away. They have now lost three straight games and sit at just 10-8. The NCAA Tournament looks like a pipe dream now. There's a shot that they don't even make the Big Ten Tournament at the rate things are going.

Jake Diebler had the team playing well early. Since then, things have taken a bit of a dip. The Buckeyes have stacked up losses instead of wins. While it's just his first year as coach, the early returns aren't great this deep into his first full year.
