There was little good for Ohio State in game one of their doubleheader on Friday. Nick Giamarusti’s two-run home run in the top of the second inning gave Ohio State an early 2-0 lead, but it was all Hoosiers after that. Indiana would score 12 unanswered runs and end the game in the eighth inning with a 12-2 win.

Game two of the Friday doubleheader showed more promise for the Buckeyes. Second baseman Tyler Pettorini hit a two-run home run in the top of the first inning to give the Buckeyes another 2-0 lead after the top of the first.
Indiana would get one back in the bottom of the first, but right fielder Trey Lipsey would make it 3-1 with an RBI double in the second. Pettorini would knock in another run with a single, and after the second, the Buckeyes would lead 4-1. Indiana would get another in the second, but in the top of the fourth, Lipsey would get another RBI double.
First baseman Will Carpenter would get an RBI single in the fifth and headed into the sixth inning; the Buckeyes would lead 6-2. Indiana got two in the sixth and in the seventh but were answered by Ohio State left fielder Matthew Graveline’s solo home run. Ohio State would lead 7-3 heading into the eighth inning.
It was all Hoosiers in the eighth though, as Indiana would get four runs and tie the game at 7-7. Ohio State’s pitching would stiffen in the ninth to send the game into extra innings, but Indiana would end the back-and-forth contest in the tenth inning, and the Buckeyes would fall 8-7.
If there was any doubt that the doubleheader losses on Friday that ended with another blown Buckeye lead killed Ohio State’s momentum from winning four of its previous five before visiting Bloomington, it was erased on Sunday. Things didn’t start much better for Ohio State as Indiana led 7-0 after only two innings.
Ohio State would finally get on the board in the top of the fourth with a Graveline two-run home run. Graveline would knock in another run with a single in the fifth.

The Hoosiers would kill Graveline’s attempts to rally his Buckeyes with a seven-run eruption in the bottom of the fifth. The 14-3 lead Indiana built would be enough for the game to end after seven innings with that being the final score of the game. The Buckeyes were swept by the Hoosiers.
Ohio State will be back in action at home on Tuesday evening when the Redhawks of Miami travel from Butler County to visit Bill Davis Stadium. The 5-12 Buckeyes will feel desperation as they take on the 10-9 MAC team. Ohio State is dead last in the Big Ten and will once again be on the road next weekend, this time in Iowa City, Iowa, to take on the 10-8 Hawkeyes, who are currently in third place in the conference.
