The Ohio State football team has to replace 15 starters from last year's team. That's a lot of new faces for a team that is trying to defend a national championship. It's not going to be easy for them to plug new guys in and keep the same level of high play going.
That's also true on the offensive line, although the Buckeyes do have a unique experience up front. While they lose four out of the five starters they had at the beginning of the season, they have four guys back who played a lot at the end of the season during the CFP run.
There are still some positional battles raging on up front, but it seems that one spot has already been locked down. Despite the Ohio State Buckeyes grabbing Phillip Daniels from the transfer portal at right tackle, it looks like Austin Siereveld is the guy who will be holding that spot.
Austin Siereveld has seemingly taken the starting right tackle position for the Ohio State football program
Siereveld played both guard spots at times last season, but wasn't overly effective. He put a massive amount of work in this offseason to become stronger and better. In fact, he was one of the top performers on the team in the offseason program.
Now, that work has seemingly paid off. Despite not playing any tackle last year, Siereveld seems to be locked in at that right tackle spot. The work he has put in has impressed Tyler Bowen and Ryan Day enough to the point that they feel comfortable putting him as the starter.
Siereveld seems like someone who will keep working harder to be the best that he can be. He's not going to be content with just being the starter. He wants to be the best offensive lineman on the entire team.
