Steve Sarkisian sounds ready to bail on Texas facing Ohio State football again

The Texas head coach seems like he doesn't want to play against Ohio State again next season.

The Ohio State football team started off this season in the best way possible by beating Texas in the Shoe. They took down the Longhorns 14-7, and it was the second straight game that Texas had lost to the Buckeyes. Ohio State took them down in the Cotton Bowl, as well.

Since that loss at the hand of the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Longhorns have dropped two other games. One of them was to a truly terrible Florida team who ended up firing their coach. Now, they have three losses and are on the outside looking in for the College Football Playoff.

In the latest rankings, Texas jumped up three spots to 13, jumping both Vanderbilt and Utah. Yet, they are unlikely to make the CFP. Steve Sarkisian is blaming the loss to Ohio State, saying that they never should have scheduled that game. It sounds like he's ready to bail on next year's rematch in Austin.

Steve Sarkisian is afraid to play the Ohio State football team

Sarkisian is crying that playing against the Buckeyes and failing to beat them is keeping them out of the CFP. When asked about that game, here's what he had to say.

"Why did we even play Ohio State? If we are a 10-2 team right now that played four top-10 opponents, we are ranked sixth in the country and not even having this discussion. So why the hell am I going to play that game next year?"

Quite frankly, that's loser talk. If they hadn't laid an egg against Georgia or lost to a really bad Gators team, they'd be in. Or they could have beaten Ohio State, and they wouldn't be in this discussion. Simply put, they just aren't a very good team that has no shot at winning a national championship, anyway.

If Sark does try to cancel the Ohio State game next season, the Buckeyes will get a hefty amount of money for such a late cancellation. It will also signal just how soft Texas is, and the SEC in general. They don't want to play real teams outside of their conference because they might get beaten.

It's humorous to see SEC fans claim they are the best conference when everyone whines about playing good teams in the non-conference. If you really are that good, why aren't you beating the best of the best from across the country?
