No game in Week 2 is bigger than Ohio State vs. Texas. It's a game that has College Football Playoff implications for both teams. A win gives each team a cushion against a brutal schedule. A loss gives them very little wiggle room in order to be one of the last 12 teams standing.
The Buckeyes smashed Ball State in Week 1, 56-3, in a game that was never close. Ohio State's offense was able to put up plenty of points. Defensively, they shut Ball State down. They did so while being very vanilla, and Texas coach Steve Sarkisian acknowledged that ahead of this humongous game.
Steve Sarkisian acknowledges the Buckeyes showed nothing on film
Ahead of the game, Sarkisian let everyone know that the Ohio State Buckeyes put almost nothing on film when it comes to the defensive side of the ball.

He understands that Matt Patricia did not want to give the Longhorns anything to view on film ahead of this huge matchup. However, it's not an uncommon practice. Ohio State clearly didn't need to do much in order to keep Ball State from scoring a touchdown, so why would they give Texas stuff to look at on film?
Texas did the same thing, for what it's worth. They certainly didn't want to show Ryan Day and his staff anything on film, either. Both teams likely had to utilize a lot of film from last season to learn what tendencies the players have. These two teams will look at the tape from last year's clash, too.
Sark needs all of the help that he can get when it comes to Ohio State. He is 0-2 against the Buckeyes in the last two seasons. Offensively, the Longhorns have only managed 21 points combined in those two games. That won't get it done, even at home.
Ohio State was smart not to give Texas any help on film
The Buckeyes are not stupid; they were never going to give the Longhorns and their coaching staff any help when it comes to what they would see on film from Week 1. Ohio State may have lost a lot of talent on the defensive side of the ball from a year ago, but they feel confident that Patricia will be able to put the guys in the proper spot to be elite again.
Arch Manning had a hard time dealing with the Buckeyes on defense a year ago. He wasn't able to find any easy throws. It was his first start against a major program, so he deserves some slack. However, Ohio State's defense isn't going to be any less menacing. They are going to keep coming at Manning.
While Manning should be more equipped for it this time around, Sark didn't get any extra help from the Ball State film in their pursuit of trying to find an edge. It's going to be a hot one, and Ohio State is going to be prepared in every possible way to pull off the upset.
