Sonny Styles is one of the few returning starters that the Ohio State football team brings back on defense this season. He returns to play linebacker for the second season after transitioning from safety to make way for Caleb Downs. He played so well that he is a Preseason All-Big Ten selection.

Styles has high expectations to play well this season, with him being one of the few seniors on this team. The Ohio State Buckeyes expect him to make plays earlier in the season than he did last year, now that he has a full year of playing linebacker under his belt.

While speaking at Big Ten Media Day, Styles heaped praise on another player. He gave some love to defensive end Kenyatta Jackson, giving fans hope that the defensive end position isn't quite as bleak as it looked when the Buckeyes played in the spring game.

Styles couldn't stop complimenting Jackson, even calling him a "monster".

"Kenyata Jackson is going to be an absolute monster. He's going to be one of the best defensive ends in the country. He has the abilities. He's 6'5, 6'6, like 265. When you think of first-round defensive end, that's what he looks like, and he plays like one, as well."

That's some high praise for someone who is about to see the most snaps of his career. He will be fighting Caden Curry for a starting defensive end spot this year, as transfer Beau Atkinson will man the other spot. Jackson has his work cut out for him in order to win that spot.

If Jackson does end up playing like Styles thinks he can, the defensive line will be a lot better than what pundits think it will be. Losing all four starters is not going to be easy to replace, but Styles believes Jackson can come out and do some great things.
