The Ohio State football team is going to be looking into the Spring transfer portal window to bring in some talented players. They have some holes that they need to fill heading into the season. Defensive line is a particular area that the Buckeyes will he looking to improve.

While that is the biggest area of need for the Ohio State Buckeyes, that might not be the only area they look at bringing in some players. They did just lose their top two rushers from a year ago. TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins are now headed to the NFL.

Running back is certainly going to be a position that they might look to upgrade. They already went into the transfer portal to get CJ Donaldson. Another talented running back just entered the transfer portal. Should the Buckeyes consider going after him?

Should the Ohio State football team try to bring Jaydn Ott to Columbus?

Cal running back Jaydn Ott has decided to enter the transfer portal, becoming perhaps the best running back available in the transfer portal. Ott ran for over 1,300 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2023 before getting significantly less work last season for the Bears.

While the Buckeyes like what they have with Donaldson and James Peoples, they haven't shied away from getting top talent at a position if they think it will help their team. Ott would add more proven depth to a room that doesn't have a lot of it.

It's unlikely that Ohio State will go after Ott. Ott is still someone who can be good in the right situation, but the Buckeyes like who they have at running back. They have more pressing needs to fill in the portal before adding a player like Ott at what they deem a luxury position.

If the Buckeyes don't go after Ott, they hope that he will stay out of the Big Ten. They don't want some other program to bring him in and make them better.
