He 100 percent knew what he was doing here. On Sunday, some big news came in for Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore, but it was of course a huge negative for Ryan Day and Ohio State. That news of course was that 5-star playmaker Carter Meadows has committed to the team up north.
Rats. The Buckeyes were showing strong interest in Meadows and it seemed like they were in a good spot to land him. However, fans are convinced that Larry Johnson dropped the ball a bit with the recruiting efforts, as people absolutely hated seeing Meadows rock with the Wolverines instead.
Things were somehow made worse on social media not too long after Meadows made his announcement. That's because Moore took to X and celebrated in style. Does this celebration look familiar? Yup, it's from when Michigan stunned Ohio State in the regular-season finale this past fall:

Ohio State fans are not happy Carter Meadows committed to Michigan over the Buckeyes
As you might have been able to guess, countless Michigan supporters are trolling Ohio State left and right over Moore winning this recruiting battle. Add in the fact that the Wolverines have won four straight games over the Buckeyes on the gridiron and it only gives those same people more ammo.
However, let's be quick to remind those folks that the reigning national champions hail from Columbus, Ohio. Sure, Michigan landed Meadows and beat OSU all in the span of less than a year. However, Buckeyes fans are still celebrating winning the natty, with Jack Sawyer and Will Howard cementing their status as program legends.
Yes, missing out on Meadows is a huge bummer for Johnson, Day and Ohio State as a whole. With that said, keep in mind that Ohio State currently holds 19 known verbals for the 2026 class - that haul is ranked No. 5 in the country by 247Sports. Michigan's class checks in at No. 9. Moore can celebrate the Meadows addition all he wants, but revenge will surely be on the way for Ohio State sooner rather than later.
