The Ohio State football team has been an absolute machine so far this season. They have looked like the best team in the country through the first five weeks of the season. Some parts of the team look even better than they did last season when they won the national championship.

Ryan Day was able to turn his team around after the loss to TTUN and turn them into a national title team. Since that loss, the Ohio State Buckeyes have looked like an entirely different team. It stems from the fact that Day looks like a different coach. He is leading this program completely differently.

In his press conferences this year, Day has taken a new tone. He is clearly not as easy to please this year as he was last year. He's on a mission for perfection. His postgame comments following the dismantling of Minnesota show just how much of a changed coach he is.

Day found some things to be mad about even after a 42-3 victory over the Golden Gophers, underscoring his hunt for perfection.

"When you keep winning, it's easy to take the problems and the issues and just say, 'that's not a problem'. I'll just say it. Bo Jackson reaches the ball out on second down; that's a problem. We should not be reaching the ball out. That's going to be a fumble down the road. I'm just going to call it out for what it is."

Day wasn't done, also taking aim at Lincoln Kienholz's poor decision on a third-and-two run.

"The third-and-two, Lincoln should've been in the A gap. He bounced it. That's going to lose us a game if we don't recognize how important those things are."

Day would go on to say that it's up to the coaches to get the players to understand the importance of those things. These are small things that happened over the course of a blowout. And yet, they still bother him after the Buckeyes had another big win this year.

This is a much different Ryan Day than Ohio State football fans are used to. His mentality is different, and that spells trouble for the rest of the teams on their schedule. Day is doing all this with an eye on that final game of the year to finally get the monkey off his back.
