The Ohio State football team has the longest winning streak in the country, having gone almost a calendar year without losing a game. After another big win against Purdue on Saturday, the Buckeyes continue to shine. It doesn't look like they are going to lose a game anytime soon, either.
Ryan Day has done a very good job of keeping his players focused on the task at hand. He has done a good job keeping his team from listening to the outside noise and playing with fire. Even with Ohio State's schedule being weak for the next couple of weeks, the players are still locked in.
Part of the reason why that is the case is that Day has raised the standard of what it means to be elite for the Ohio State Buckeyes. During his weekly press conference, Day shared with the media that he has raised the standard to be graded out as a champion weekly.
The Ohio State football team's standards have been raised after winning a national title
Day revealed that he has raised the criteria to be graded out as a champion by three percent, stating the team still needs to execute at a higher level.
Ryan Day said Ohio State has increased the standard for grading out as a champion from 80% to 83%, because “we feel like we need to up the ante and the execution.”

It seems that the loss to TTUN last season has created a new monster inside of Day, which has been a good thing. He continues to make sure that the Buckeyes are playing the best possible football late in November. Since that loss, the Buckeyes have simply been utterly unstoppable.
Day has a clear goal to turn this team program into the newest dynasty. The last massive box for Day to check is to take down TTUN with players he recruited, and he needs his guys playing at the highest possible level to get that done. Ohio State won't make the same mistake it made last year for that game.
Day is unleashing Julian Sayin now, so he's comfortable for that game in three weeks. Grading out as a champion every week is a stepping stone to getting that win.
