The Ohio State football team is coming off a big win at Washington in the first road trip for the Buckeyes. They took down the Huskies 24-6 in a game that showed just how dominant they are on the defensive side of the ball. Matt Patricia may lead the best defense in the country.

Ryan Day alluded before the game that the Ohio State Buckeyes might have to play a little more conservatively on the offensive side of the ball and let the defense take over. That's exactly what they did. Their special teams were pretty solid in the game, too.

Day has had a chance to review the tape from the game and has now come to the conclusion that one Ohio State football player deserves to get more playing time based on his performance on special teams. That player is cornerback Aaron Scott, who had a heck of a game.

Scott was excellent on special teams, flying down the field to make tackles on kickoffs. This is something he's done all year long, and Day has taken notice. While speaking during his weekly press conference, Day made sure to let everyone know that he will be seeing more snaps.

"To me, he made the play that he made in the game over the last couple of weeks. The last 13 times that we've run down on kickoff, he was the first guy to the 30-yard line. Then he gets there in the (Washington) game, and he makes that hit inside the 20-yard line. Why? Because for the last 13 times, he was the first guy to the 30-yard line."

Day clearly loves the example that Scott is setting for everyone else on the roster with his effort.

"That's a great example — Aaron Scott is gonna start playing more football around here. That's how you cut your teeth on special teams. That's the culture we have. The guys buy into it."

Scott hasn't been able to see much of the field in his young career because of some injuries he's suffered. Now that he is healthy, he's giving it his all so that he has a shot to see more snaps. His head coach loves the effort and will be rewarding him with more playing time.

Expect to see Scott playing some in the nickelback spot over the next few weeks.
