Spring ball has been finished for a couple of weeks now for the Ohio State football program. They will now head into summer, which is a time for everyone to get better individually. The Buckeyes are trying to figure out a way to integrate all 51 new faces into the roster.
Ryan Day liked parts of what he saw during spring practice and the Spring Game. Yet, he constantly told the media that more work needed to be done. He understands what it will take to get the Ohio State Buckeyes back into contention for a national championship.
Still, it's clear that Day is not fully satisfied with how his team is coming together yet. There is one thing that is still keeping him up at night. He knows that the schedule is tough, and it is hard early for the Buckeyes, which is something he's trying to get his team to understand.
Ryan Day worried about one key thing for ther Ohio State football team
While speaking on 97.1 the Fan, Day made it clear that he is still worried about the schedule that Ohio State faces this season.
"This summer is going to be critically important for how we start the season," Day told Beau Bishop.
With Texas scheduled for the second game of the season, Day understands that his team needs to be on point from the moment that the year starts, with the Longhorns as an opponent once again. The end of the summer is going to be key to making sure that Ohio State knows what the depth chart looks like early in the Fall.
The Ohio State Buckeyes have beaten Texas in back-to-back seasons. It's clear that they feel very good about taking on the Longhorns. Yet, Day knows that he can't let up if they are going to emerge victorious on the road.
