This weekend, the Ohio State football team takes its first trip on the road this season. It's a long one, as they will head to Washington to take on the Huskies for their lone West Coast trip this season. They take on a good Huskies team that comes into this game undefeated.

While the Ohio State Buckeyes were on the bye week, Ryan Day and his coaching staff hit the recruiting trail hard to help build up both the 2026 and the 2027 recruiting classes. Day wants to improve on a class that is currently ranked ninth in the country in the recruiting rankings.

Ahead of their trip out to Washington, Day decided to pull a genius-level move on the recruiting trail. He decided to offer a Washington commit who will be at the game watching the Buckeyes. That way, he can see just how good Ohio State is compared to the Huskies.

Just a few days before taking on the Huskies, the Buckeyes have offered Rahsjon Duncan, a cornerback committed to Washington. Duncan is a three-star recruit from Oakland, California, who has been committed to Washington since July.

This is a very smart move by Day and Tim Walton. If they actually want this kid, it makes sense to offer him right before he visits a game in which the Buckeyes will be there. They're essentially getting a visit for free by doing this, showing Duncan firsthand just how good Ohio State is.

The Buckeyes are in the midst of trying to flip a flurry of recruits as the cycle winds down. They seem to have more juice when it comes to NIL offers now than they did early in the recruiting cycle, which is why they feel pretty good about their chances of being able to land some of these recruits.

A big win on Saturday would certainly help Ohio State's chances of flipping some of these guys, especially Duncan. Keeping the team undefeated and winning in a tough environment on the road is a great way to help them get these recruits interested in coming to Columbus.
