The Ohio State football team continues to march its way towards Fall camp. They have guys who are looking to improve and catch Ryan Day's eye so that they can get some meaningful snaps on a team that is defending a national championship. It certainly isn't an easy task for anyone down on the depth chart.
Day recently named his Dudes of the Week for Week 6 of offseason workouts. Brandon Inniss was one of them, which isn't shocking. He is slated to have a big year with Emeka Egbuka gone. He should slide right into the slot receiver position and be the third option.
The other two players who were named as Dudes of the Week are guys who don't figure to be guys getting a lot of attention this season, although one of them played a decent amount when it came to running plays. Those guys are tight end Bennett Christian and defensive end Will Smith Jr.

Christian is a tight end who isn't going to get a lot of catches with Max Klare on the roster now. He might figure in to be the second tight end on the depth chart if he improves enough, but he still has to fight Will Kacmarek for that honor. He needs to keep stacking weeks like this.
Smith Jr. has a much clearer path to playing time. Defensive end up is not a position of strength for the Buckeyes heading into this season. Smith Jr. can definitely slide into the defensive line rotation with a few more weeks like this. He is a pretty good talent.
Fall camp is just a few weeks away. That's when the depth chart will be finalized, so all three of these players will need to keep showing Day that they deserve more playing time.
