Now that the early signing period is over, the Ohio State football team has most of its 2026 recruiting class signed, sealed, and delivered. Right now, the class sits sixth in the recruiting rankings. They were able to keep Chris Henry Jr., despite Brian Hartline leaving for USF after this season ends.

Most of the recruits that the Buckeyes have in their class have been locked in for a while. However, one recruit whom they thought they were going to sign is Legend Bey. Bey is a four-star recruit whom the Ohio State Buckeyes were recruiting as a running back.

Instead of signing with Ohio State, which was clearly his preference, his family forced him to sign with Tennessee. However, there is a new twist that has happened in this recruiting story that is getting sad for everyone involved, because it's tearing a family apart.

Legend Bey's mom allegedly may have forged his signature so he couldn't sign with Ohio State

According to Rivals, there is a possibility that Bey's mom forged his signature so that he signed with Tennessee instead of Ohio State. Because Bey is not 18 yet, he needs a guardian to sign off on his LOI. If this is true, then Bey would be allowed out of his letter by Tennessee.

Bey clearly wants to be in Columbus. He turns 18 in a few weeks, and then he can make his own decisions. If Tennessee doesn't let him out of his letter, he could enter the transfer portal in January and sign with the Buckeyes at that time. His family clearly doesn't want him to do that.

Bey has already told the world that his family has locked him out of his social media accounts. Once he turns 18, he could head to Columbus. Unfortunately, that might tear this family apart. It's nice to see a recruit have such a big passion for Ohio State, but it's very sad that it means a family coming apart at the seams.

This saga is far from over. Things might take an even wilder turn at some point.
