5. Michael Bennett

Bennett had 110 tackles at Ohio State, 35 of them tackles for a loss. He also had 18 sacks and forced seven fumbles. Bennett gets overlooked for how important he was to the 2014 National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes. Michael Bennett was the senior leader on the defensive line and the defense as a whole. He was unselfish and did the dirty work in the interior that allowed players like Joey Bosa to make the impact and headline plays.

6. Nick Bosa

Nick Bosa had 77 tackles at Ohio State. He had 31 tackles for a loss and 17.5 sacks, and he was an All-American. This Bosa is arguably the most talented defensive lineman on this list. Ohio State fans still feel their heads and hearts hurt at the idea of him playing his entire final season opposite Chase Young. They would’ve won Ohio State a national championship together.

7. Cam Heyward

Heyward made 160 tackles for the Buckeyes in his career. 41 of those were tackles for a loss of yards, and 15.5 were sacks of the quarterback. Heyward is the prototypical defensive lineman of the Jim Tressel Era. Not flashy, not loud, just hard working and getting the job done. Heyward led Ohio State to four Big Ten Championships and Rose and Sugar Bowl Championships.
