Many are overlooking Will Howard, but he could be the reason Ohio State goes far in the 2024 season.

I believe Will Howard is going to be a game-changer for the Buckeyes in 2024. I don't think one bit that he will just be okay and only get the job done. If Ohio State can find their way to a National Championship one of the reasons is going to be because of Howard.

After the horrible performance Kyle McCord gave in 2023 Ohio State knew they needed someone else, with their luck McCord could sense that. That's why no one was really upset that McCord hit the transfer portal and went to Syracuse. After he left they knew they needed to get someone from the transfer portal. After rumors and speculation of a bunch of different quarterbacks coming to Columbus, former Kansas State QB Will Howard transferred to the Buckeyes.

Will Howard is a dual-threat quarterback, if given the chance he will use his legs and find the endzone on his own. In 2023 Howard got 351 rushing yards and with that, he found the end-zone 9 times. Jayden Daniels, the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner, was known for his ability to use his leg too, in 2023 Daniels got 10 rushing touchdowns. While yes Jayden was clearly better at rushing with his 1,134 yards, the fact that Howard got only one less rushing touchdown than him needs to mean something.

When at Kansas State Will Howard had nowhere close to the talent that he will have in Columbus in 2024. With guys like Emeka Egbuka and Jeremiah Smith at wide receiver, and then Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson at running back, offensively Howard is loaded with talent to use. While yes the offensive line definitely needs some help one major difference that you will see from this season compared to last, the number of sacks will go down with how Howard can get out of those situations.

Last season he had 2,643 yards with 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Expect a huge boost in all of those stats. Yes, Howard looked a little questionable during spring, at some points there were even talks of possibly Devin Brown playing. But all of that was simply just getting used to these news guys and scheme.

While many believe that Will Howard will be just one of your run-of-the-mill quarterbacks in the nation, I beg to differ. He will be much better than McCord that's for sure. He will be one of the reasons Ohio State gets as far as they make it too.
