Who could potentially be the Ohio State Basketball coach next season?

Former head coach Chris Holtmann was fired this season. Since then Jake Diebler has been leading the Ohio State basketball team to a good end of the season. The question is will the Buckeye keep him or make a change?

After seven seasons with them, Chris Holtmann was fired by the Ohio State basketball program back earlier in the season. Holtmann was 137-86 in his seven seasons and led the Buckeyes to four NCAA Tournament appearances.

Jake Diebler has taken over since Holtmann was fired. He led Ohio State to a very good ending of the regular season. It's even possible for him to make March Madness, depending on how they do in the conference tournament. While he has led the Buckeyes to a better position than what they were in, should they keep him as the head coach next season?

I believe Ohio State has three options for head coach. Jake Diebler, Florida Atlantic's Dusty May, and Xavier's Sean Miller.

Dusty May is 121-66 as the head coach at Florida Atlantic. He has seemed to find success there too. Last year he was able to lead FAU to the Final Four last season and won the C-USA championship and tournament. He was also named the C-USA Coach of the Year in 2023. If he were able to come to Ohio State it would be a pretty big win for the Buckeyes.

Sean Miller is 153-61 over seven seasons as the head coach at Xavier. He coached Xavier from 2004-09, and in that time was able to lead the Musketeers to the Elite Eight. When he came back to Xavier, he led them to the Sweet 16.

Then Jake Diebler, who has won the last 5 of 6 games. I say if Diebler were to lead the Buckeyes to March Madness, and even win a game or two in the tournament, he will come back for Ohio State. But if the Buckeyes don't make the tournament at all, he still has a shot because he has helped Ohio State to win.
