Which Ohio State football player on defense will be the first player drafted in 2025?

The Ohio State football team had one of the best defenses in the country last season. They had the best pass defense in the country and were top-five in every other major category. The good news for them is that most of their best defensive players decided to return for one last ride.

There's a good chance that the Buckeyes could have the best defense in the country. The secondary is going to be scary good this year. A lot of these guys will leave for the draft in 2025. So which of them will be the first defensive Ohio State football player drafted?

I think Denzel Burke has the best chance. Burke has been one of the best players on the Buckeyes for two of his three seasons. His freshman year showed that he had a chance to be an All-American. While he hasn't quite hit that level yet, he was a First-team All-Big Ten last season.

Burke has shown that he is a shutdown corner. Teams have started to throw away from him on a regular basis. That's the type of skill that NFL teams are looking for, especially in a pass-happy league. Every franchise is looking for a corner to lock down a side of the field.

While Ohio State has some other really good players, Burke has a chance to be the highest-drafted guy. J.T. Tuimoloau is the only one who can challenge him, and that's if he has a bunch of sacks this year. His sack totals have been unimpressive so far in his career.

The Buckeyes are a really solid defensive team. I would be surprised if multiple players weren't drafted in the first round on that side of the ball for Ohio State. Jim Knowles has done an excellent job of getting this unit back to what it used to be.
