What the Ohio State football team can expect from Marshall this week

The Ohio State football team is back in action this weekend against the Marshall Thundering Herd. What can they expect from them?

The Ohio State football team is back in action this weekend. After having a bye week early in the year, the Buckeyes should be well-rested and ready to go. They had two great games to start the year after destroying both Akron and Western Michigan. Neither game was close at any point.

After the "improvement week", the Ohio State Buckeyes will now take on the Marshall Thundering Herd. It's the third game of the season and the second-to-last non-conference game for the Buckeyes. It's another game that they should be able to win without too many issues.

Marshall is also coming off a bye week. They have a blowout win over Stony Brook and a two-score loss to Virginia Tech. Their run defense is a disaster which should be music to Ohio State's ears. Does the Thundering Herd have any shot of making this a game?

What the Ohio State football team should expect from Marshall

In a word, no. Marshall is going to get run all over in this game. They allowed a bad Virginia Tech team to run for 208 yards on them in Week 2. While they can get some explosive runs themselves, the Ohio State defense might be the best defensive unit in the country.

Marshall isn't good at throwing the ball, which is also an issue. They're likely going to be behind most of this game, so they'll need to pass the ball to make up some ground. Again, the defense of Ohio State is elite and they might have the best secondary in the country, so Marshall has their work cut out for them.

Right now, the Buckeyes are 39.5-point favorites according to DraftKings. The over/under sits at 51. As you can see, the Buckeyes are widely expected to beat the Thundering Herd badly. I tend to agree. This game won't be close after the first quarter.
