The Ohio State football team is one of the favorites to win it all this year. Here are three reasons why they'll do just that.

The Ohio State football team has one of the best rosters in the country. We've been talking about that at length for the last few months. They're going to be a top-three team in the preseason polls and will be one of the favorites to win the new-look Big Ten. It will be them and Oregon who are most likely to win it.

Not only are they one of the favorites to win the Big Ten, but they are also one of the favorites to win the national championship. Defensively, there might not be anyone better than them. It will just depend on the offense returning to elite status after being just very good last year.

Ohio State is one of the favorites by national pundits, but they should be THE favorite. Not only did they improve their roster from a year ago, but they also improved their coaching staff, which is something that has been lacking in the last couple of seasons.

There are three reasons why the Ohio State football team will win the national championship this year. the first reason has to do with just how good they are defensively.

1. Teams won't be able to pass against the Ohio State football team

Last year, the Buckeyes were impossible to throw the ball against. No one allowed fewer passing yards than Ohio State did a year ago. They allowed just 146.9 passing yards per game. It's hard to win games when it's that hard to move the ball through the air.

So how will the Buckeyes follow up on that act? They arguably got even better in the secondary. All of their key players in the secondary came back, including Denzel Burke, Lathan Ransom, and Jordan Hancock. All of those guys came back and they added a stud at safety as well.

Caleb Downs was added at the safety spot and he might be the best safety in the country as a sophomore. So now the Buckeyes become even more dangerous as a team and become harder to throw against. Adding Downs allows the Buckeyes to move Sonny Styles to linebacker where he can help stop the run.

Stopping the run wasn't necessarily an issue for them, but it was a problem in the Michigan game. They couldn't get off the field soon enough to give the offense enough time to mount a game-winning drive. Moving Styles up to linebacker should help with that.

The second reason why the Buckeyes will win a national title is the upgrade made at quarterback.
