Three players to watch for the Ohio State football vs. Michigan State game
By Ryan Stano
3. Aidan Chiles
Michigan State is led by Aidan Chiles on offense. The quarterback is going to have his work cut out for him going against the vaunted Ohio State defense. The Buckeyes are probably the best defense he will face all year long considering they are one of the best in the country.
Chiles is someone the Buckeyes are looking to feast on. He's not exactly someone that takes care of the football. In fact, he threw three interceptions last week when the Spartans lost to Boston College. Chiles has seven interceptions on the year, so he's not exactly the most careful quarterback in the world.
While Chiles isn't the best passer, he's an effective runner. He has 95 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the season. He won't take off and run a ton, but it's part of his arsenal. Ohio State had issues with Stone Earle doing that last weekend, so this is something to monitor.
All the Ohio State football team has to do is force Chiles to be pocket passer. I don't believe that he's good enough to beat the Buckeyes with his arm. Ohio State likely doesn't either. They will work to stop the run on the early downs to force Chiles to beat him with his arm on third-down.
If Chiles somehow has a career-night, that would be the only chance that Michigan State has to win the game. Ohio State is too good to beat unless they make some mistakes. We'll see if they are able to play a mistake-free game and move to 4-0.
