Three most impactful transfers in and out of the Ohio State football program so far
By Ryan Stano
3. Chip Trayanum
No room in the Ohio State football program lost more depth than the running back room. Miyan Williams decided to head to the NFL Draft and Evan Pryor left in the transfer portal. Chip Trayanum also decided to leave and it left the Buckeyes in some trouble.
Trayanum was the second-best running back the Buckeyes had last season late in the year. TreVeyon Henderson is still the best back they have, but he could leave for the Draft. If he doesn't come back, the Buckeyes are left with just Dallan Hayden and a couple of freshmen in the running back room.
The Buckeyes would really have loved to have Trayanum regardless of what Henderson decides. He had 373 yards and 3 touchdowns last year. He was the one who scored the game-winning touchdown for the Buckeyes against Notre Dame early in the year too.
Trayanum decided to leave for Kentucky and play his final year of college football there. I wish him nothing but the best while he's there. He gets a chance to be the number-one back there, something he wasn't guaranteed in Columbus even if Henderson did decide to leave.
Those are the three most impactful transfers the Buckeyes have had to deal with so far. They still could add someone very soon, but no one else is leaving until the Spring. We'll see what happens once the Spring transfer portal window opens.
