Three bold predictions for Ohio State football vs. Akron
By Ryan Stano
2. TreVeyon Henderson will run for 100+ yards and two scores
Henderson is the starting running back for this team, although Ryan Day declined to officially name a running back starter. Both he and Quinshon Judkins are going to get a lot of snaps, so it doesn't really matter who starts. As a fourth-year senior, it makes sense for Henderson to get that honor.
I think Henderson is primed for a big year. He's been hurt for a lot of his Ohio State football career and he wants to have a healthy season. If he can have a healthy year, he sets himself up well for the NFL. The Buckeyes love having him back and a good way to keep him healthy is to share carries with Judkins.
Henderson is going to have his way with the Zips. I think he runs for 100+ yards and two touchdowns in the opener. He's still one of the best running backs in college football when he's fully healthy. I also think Judkins is going to have a good game too. I think he has at least 75 yards on the ground.
I just don't see the Zips stopping Ohio State at all on offense. They should be able to get whatever they want offensively. That means a bunch of guys are going to rack up the yards and the points. Ohio State isn't going to need to worry about any sort of limitations.
It wouldn't be a disappointment if Henderson didn't hit this mark, but it would be nice if he could hit these numbers. The final bold prediction we have comes for the defense.
