2. Who starts at linebacker for the Ohio State football team?

Ohio State loses both starting linebackers to the NFL this year. Steele Chambers and Tommy Eichenberg are off to the next level to start their professional career. The Buckeyes will have two new starters at their position and it will be interesting to see who gets those jobs.

Who ends up winning the starting jobs? Does C.J. Hicks finally get sustained playing time? Is he the best linebacker on the roster? Cody Simon is back for his final season of eligibility and he wasn't too bad last year. Should he get the other starting position?

Prior to the offseason, those two were easy to lock in as the starters. But now there is a new contender for a starting spot. Sonny Styles is such a versatile weapon that he could end up moving to linebacker now that the Buckeyes have Caleb Downs at safety.

So now you have three players for two spots. Who is going to be the odd man out? If I had to guess, I think it might be Hicks. I expect all three of those guys to get a ton of playing time though. They all are skilled enough to earn a ton of playing time. Expect James Laurinaitis to rotate those guys if Styles does move down to LB.

The linebackers are really the only question on the defense heading into the Spring. Ohio State's secondary is going to be insanely good and most of the elite defensive linemen are back from a year ago. It's just that one unit that is a little unstable at the moment.

The last big question we have to ask is at the quarterback position.
