The Ohio State Women's Hockey team easily makes WCHA Championship
By Tyler Lyman
The Ohio State women's hockey team has been the number-one seed and has had an impressive season at 31-3. They will be making their way to the WCHA Championship after their blowout win against No. 4 Minnesota Duluth, winning 5-0. Nadie Muzerall was also named the WCHA Coach of the Year, also Raygan Kirk was selected as a Finalist for the Women's Goalie of the Year award. If they won the championship this year, it would be their third in just five years.
So far Ohio State has beaten No. 8 seed Bemidji State 10-1 and 8-0 to beat the Beavers in the tournament. This shows just how much better Ohio State is compared to its competition. They will play the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday, 3/9/24 in the Final Faceoff Championship.
The Badgers beat the Buckeyes in last year’s NCAA championship game. This will most likely be a close game, both teams have had successful seasons lately, but hopefully, the Buckeyes will pull out a huge win. They have the revenge factor on their side.
A win for the Ohio State women's hockey team would likely give them the inside track to a number-one seed for the NCAA Tournament. That will be key if they want to get back to the national championship and take home the title this season. It will give them the easiest path.
The Buckeyes have built a culture of winning on the Women's hockey team, and that's something that will show in the championship and for years to come!
