The Ohio State basketball team was trying to keep their season alive on Tuesday night. They hosted Georgia in the third round of the NIT. They did this after showing some toughness in their win over Virginia Tech over the weekend. Quite honestly, the Buckeyes know they were going to be in a dogfight.

That's exactly what they got. The Buckeyes were down multiple times in this game. They struggled to make threes early in the game. By halftime, it was just a one-point deficit for Ohio State, as they were down 36-35. They went into the locker room and made some adjustments.

Those adjustments paid off late in the second half. The Buckeyes went on a 17-0 run to take a six-point lead. It looked like they were going to pull away at that point, but the Bulldogs kept fighting back. It was a one-point game with 1:51 left in the game.

In the end, the Buckeyes fell just two points short. Their season ended after losing 79-77 after Jamison Battle's game-winning three fell just short. He was great in the game though, putting up 22 points and 8 rebounds. It was the final game of his career and he left it all out on the court.

Even though the season didn't end the way the Buckeyes wanted it to, it was still a great run. They came just a game short of making the NCAA Tournament and got some valuable experience in the NIT. The Ohio State basketball team is set up well for the future.
