The Ohio State football team takes on Akron in the season opener for the 2024 season team. The Buckeyes are probably the most talented team in the country from top to bottom. Now it's time for them to go out and prove it because a lot of guys are going to get to play in this game.

Ohio State football fans are very eager to watch Will Howard and how he fits with Chip Kelly's offense. He is going to be surrounded by the most talented guys he's ever played football with. Fans are going to expect him to dominate right away, even if that's not really his game.

Howard is going to be handing the ball off a lot too. TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins are the best running back duo in the country. They need to get fed the ball too. This is a game that everyone is probably going to be happy though because Akron is a heavy underdog.

The Ohio State football team should be able to beat Akron handily

According to DraftKings, the Buckeyes are 48.5-point favorites. The over/under for that game is 57. I think that the Zips are going to have a really hard team keeping the Buckeyes within seven touchdowns. That's how good I think this Ohio State football team is.

Howard should be able to sling the ball around and throw for over 300 yards. I expect the running game to be able to do whatever it wants too. If Kelly wants to show a lot of Howard running in this game, he could end up running for 75+ yards in this one. If he doesn't the running backs could both have over 100.

Akron is awful. The Ohio State Buckeyes are great. It's pretty simple. I have the Buckeyes winning this game 56-0. Akron won't even get on the scoreboard.
