Ohio State football team to play in historic baseball stadium this year
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team no longer has to worry about a Big Ten East and West schedule. They now just play all of the Big Ten teams on a rotating basis, except obviously The Game. They will still play that every year. One of the teams the Buckeyes will play this year is Northwestern.
Northwestern is hosting the Buckeyes on November 16th. If you remember the last time these two teams played, it was super windy and a little rainy. Throwing the ball was nearly impossible during that game in 2022 and C.J. Stroud turned into a runner for the first time ever.
That game was played at Ryan Field. This year's game will not. Ryan Field is getting demolished as they build their new stadium. All of their home games will be played at different venues while that new stadium is getting finished and the venue at which they will play the Ohio State football team is a historic baseball stadium.
That's right! The Buckeyes will be playing the Wildcats at Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs. That's a pretty cool venue to go and watch the Buckeyes. Chicago is just a six-hour drive from Columbus so expect to see a bunch of Ohio State fans at that game.
If you've never been to Wrigley Field, I highly suggest going to this game. It's a super-cool place to take in a sporting event. Even though it will likely be cold out, I still think it would be a cool setting to watch this game. This isn't the first game Northwestern has played at Wrigley either.
Ohio State has all of its venues for the season set now. This Northwestern game shouldn't be competitive, but you never know. The weather could be crazy again and that could change the way Ohio State plays.
