Ohio State Football: Some of the worst offense seen from Ohio State

The Buckeyes played like they were blind in the Cotton Bowl offensively, with that they must now point out all responsible for that and get it fixed.

The Ohio State football team's offense played like they didn't even deserve to be ranked. If it wasn't for the defense the Buckeyes would have been blown out by a lot more 11 points. They showed they didn't have a clue how to drive a football. They couldn't even execute a third down until the second half. Watching this game even had me feeling sorry for any Buckeye fan who paid to watch this game live, it was some of the worst football I think I've seen.

The offensive line played like they didn't have a care in the world, they even had Cade Stover, the Buckeyes's star tight end, screaming at them at one point. With how horrible they were playing they had Ohio State within a yard of their own endzone a couple of times. Ohio State couldn't even get a single play off. Running back TreVeyon Henderson couldn't get a second after getting the ball before he had multiple defenders surrounding him.

At the quarterback position, the Buckeyes went with Devin Brown. Brown played a total of about five minutes because he got injured. The offensive line is a reason Devin Brown got hurt. So Ohio State resorted to true freshman Lincoln Kienholz, who played three full quarters. What all did we see from him? Running outside of the pocket from a defender every passing attempt or handing the ball off to Henderson. He had a total of 86 passing yards, going 4/13 for passing attempts.

The coaches however should be held accountable the most. Ryan Day was scared to let Kienholz throw the ball, something we saw him do with Kyle McCord. Why not? There was no reason to run the ball behind an O-line like that every play. Another coach to blame is Corey Dennis, he is the quarterback coach at Ohio State. Lincoln Kienholz and Devin Brown both should have been prepared for this bowl game, but they weren't.

dark. Next. Next story. 2024 QB battle could be a mess

Ohio State though does have nine months to get their stuff together. With a new athletic director and a reason to win next year, the Ohio State football team will probably look better than what the Cotton Bowl showed us.
