Ohio State football: Netflix to produce a documentary on TTUN cheating scandal
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team has lost the last three games against Michigan that they have played. They were favored to win all of those games and lost them for a variety of reasons. In last year's matchup, they were just not the tougher team in the trenches.
Last year's matchup is the only one of those three games that has no asterisk next to it. The previous two matchups saw Michigan win under shady circumstances. In both of those matchups, Connor Stalions was on Michigan's staff, illegally taping other team's signals.
The cheating scandal at Michigan is one of the biggest cheating scandals in the history of the sport. Stalions was illegally scouting opponents and filming things on his iPhone. He was eventually fired in order to save face and keep Michigan's hopes of avoiding sanctions alive. Now, Netflix is making a documentary about it.
Netflix is making a documentary about Connor Stalions and how he affected the Ohio State football team
Netflix announced that as part of their Untold series, a documentary on the cheating scandal and Stalions will be coming out this Fall. It will be coming out on August 27th, which is fitting. It's right before the season starts and well before the NCAA has handed down any sanctions related to the scandal.
Jim Harbaugh was suspended for three games for cheating. That's the only punishment so far that TTUN has seen for this documented cheating. The Ohio State football program was blatantly affected by his misdeeds in both 2021 and 2022. The Buckeyes aren't going to use that as an excuse though.
It'll be interesting to see how they frame this documentary and who they make the main characters in the documentary. I wonder if any outside coaches will be interviewed. I highly doubt that we'll hear from any Buckeyes, but you never know.
