The Ohio State football team will be looking to land one of its top targets for the 2025 recruiting cycle as four-star linebacker Tarvos Alford is set to commit on Saturday. The No. 53 overall player according to 247 Sports, is crystal ball predicted to land with the Buckeyes.

The Vero Beach, Florida prospect will be choosing between Ohio State, Florida, Miami, Florida State, and Tennessee. This would be a huge win for newly appointed linebackers coach James Laurinaitis, as he's played a major role in garnering Alford's interest in Columbus.

Alford projects out to be a Mike or Will linebacker in the Ohio State system. He's known for being a tackling machine while in High School and has all the physical gifts that you look for in a starting Power Four linebacker recruit.

Another great sign for Ohio State in this recruitment was that they got the last word. Alford was in Columbus last weekend for a visit and all indications were that it went very well. Alford would be the ninth player to commit to Ohio State and the second linebacker, following Akron Hoban's Eli Lee.

In other recruiting news, another top linebacker prospect is making a decision on Saturday as Anthony Sacca, four-star recruit from St Joe's Prep in Philadelphia will be giving his verbal. Yes, that is the same high school as Marvin Harrison Jr. and Kyle McCord, but Sacca ended up committing to Notre Dame.

While the Buckeyes are certainly still in the mix, Sacca had been favored to play for Marcus Freeman and the Fighting Irish for a while now. He was also considering Alabama, Duke, and Wisconsin. It would have been nice if Laurinaitis could have pulled a rabbit from his hat and gotten both commitments on Saturday. That would've been one big Easter egg for the Buckeyes.
