The Ohio State football program is trying to fill out its 2025 recruiting class. They recently lost a commitment in that class. Their numbers are currently in the single digits for commitments, but that will soon change. A bunch of commits will probably happen following the Spring Game.

Ohio State added to that count on Friday night when they got a commitment from a four-star defensive end prospect. London Merritt out of IMG Academy in Florida decided to commit to the Buckeyes. He gives the Buckeyes some depth along the defensive line, something they desperately need.

Merritt stands at 6'3 and 250 pounds. He is a big guy who has quick hands at the line of scrimmage. Not only does he have quick hands, but he's a fast guy in general. He's a track guy who can run 12.48 in the 100 M. Talk about speed off the end!

The Buckeyes see Merritt as a guy who can help in pass-rushing scenarios. He is a guy who can get off the line of scrimmage in a hurry. He'll need to increase his strength a big, but everyone does once they reach the collegiate level. The Buckeyes can help with that in a hurry.

The Ohio State football team now has eight commitments for the 2025 class and they stand at sixth in the recruiting rankings right now. They have a bunch of players on the defensive side of the ball who are likely to commit to them soon as well, so that's something to watch.

Which QBs will stay and which will go?. dark. Next. Next story

Brian Hartline also doesn't have any more receiver commits. Expect that to change as well. I would say that the Buckeyes are sitting in a pretty good spot when it comes to the recruiting trail. Merritt now joins the class that could be a really good one when it's all said and done.
