The Ohio State football program has gotten a lot of good news over the past couple of weeks. A ton of players have decided to return for next season, including three players announcing yesterday they were returning. Perhaps the best of the 2023 players announced today that they are coming back.

Emeka Egbuka, Ohio State's dynamic receiver, has announced that he is returning for the 2024 season. It's a massive boost for a receiver room that was going to have a lot of talent, but unproven talent next year. The Buckeyes now get a first-round talent back.

Egbuka was hurt a lot in the 2023 season, only playing in 10 of the 13 games the Buckeyes played, He was also clearly hobbled in some of those games he did play. He finished the season with 41 catches for 515 yards and 4 touchdowns, which was a far cry from his 2022 campaign where he had 74 catches for 1,151 yards and 10 touchdowns.

It's clear that Egbuka's NFL Draft stock had slipped a bit after this season He wasn't the sure-fire first-round pick that he was supposed to be when the year started. Now that he's coming back, he can solidify himself as the best receiver in the 2025 Draft if he can stay healthy.

Egbuka will have a new quarterback throwing to him this year, one who should be better than the one he had a year ago. That should help his production on the field and make this offense extremely dangerous. Now Ohio State has a true home run threat in the passing game.

There are still a couple of other Ohio State football players who could return to make this team really scary next season. Even so, the Buckeyes look like they will be one of the best teams in the country next year.
