Ohio State Football: Commits Ohio State fans need to look out for
By Tyler Lyman
Signing Day is soon and the Ohio State football team will be adding some players from the 2024 class into the program. Jeremiah Smith is a name that should at least sound a little familiar, he is a wide receiver from Chaminade-Madonna Prep. Smith is 6'3 and about 200 pounds.
Seeing his highlights, he shows that he can take a pass that's about 5 or 10 yards and turn it into a big play. Also, his route running could be compared to Stefon Diggs from the Buffalo Bills. With Marvin Harrison Jr most likely leaving and Julian Fleming in the transfer portal, Jeremiah Smith has a real chance to see the field this next season and could even put up some good stats for a freshman.
Another Ohio State commit is Eddrick Houston, D-lineman. Out of Buford, GA Houston showed all why he is so highly recruited. Houston also can make plays even after the QB throws the ball to the receiver, tracking down the receiver and hitting him. In the 2023 season, he was able to get 45 tackles and 5 sacks. Eddrick Houston chose Ohio State over other programs such as Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, and USC. Houston was also put in at tight end for some plays. Houston additionally wrestled and competed in track and field.
Running back James Peoples from San Antonio committed back in April of 2023. Peoples' field vision and ability to break through tackles is the reason why Ohio State football fans should be happy to gain him. He was also on the All-American Bowl roster, People's was always an option at Veterans Memorial High School. Also as no surprise he ran track and field, he ran a 15.81 110-meter hurdles and long jumped 21-3.75.
Five-star recruit Aaron Scott is from Springfield Ohio and he is a lockdown corner. He had 21 tackles and 5 interceptions, returning 2 of them for TDS. Scott even visited Michigan just 14 days before he committed to the Buckeyes. He also plays basketball and track and field. He played in the Under Armour All-America Game. Scott is a very talented corner who will provide to Ohio State's defense in the coming years.
Ohio State has many recruits committed right now, that's why they are ranked 2 in overall recruiting. With these recruits such as the guys I just listed, this Ohio State football team should be a powerhouse.
