Ohio State Football: C.J. Stroud is a great ambassador for Buckeye football
The Ohio State football team is lucky to have C.J. Stroud in their corner. The reigning NFL Rookie of the Year and legitimate NFL MVP candidate showed up to the Ohio State Pro Day earlier this week and his presence is a major win for Ryan Day and the program.
""A lot of great relationships I have here still. So just appreciate my brothers for supporting me last year and I just wanted to return the favor, just show them some love. And I think everybody did a good job today. So I'm proud of them.""
- C.J. Stroud, former Buckeye QB
In numerous interviews with local media, Stroud spoke glowingly about his time in Columbus and how he views it as his second home. He also spoke on his relationship with Ryan Day and how it's more than your typical player-coach relationship.
Having a player like Stroud come back in the offseason to the school's Pro Day workout is massive for this Buckeye program. He is a shining example to recruits of what could happen if you play football at Ohio State. And even without beating Michigan, Stroud cemented himself as an Ohio State football legend, proving that it can be done.
Stroud has also dispelled the curse on Buckeye quarterbacks once they enter the league. He helped turn around an absolutely abysmal franchise in just one short season. If he keeps on his current trajectory, Stroud could easily wind up being one of the best players in the NFL in no time.
And it's great to see that fame and fortune have not gone to Stroud's head. He's still the humble leader and friend that he's always been. A ton has changed for Stroud in just a year's time, but one thing is for certain. He loved his time in Columbus, and he represents this school and state the right way. It's great to have C.J. Stroud as an ambassador for this program.
