Ohio State fans sound off on video of TTUN baseball player getting caught cheating
By Ryan Stano
Anyone who's a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes also hates Michigan. It's in their blood. If you read this website, you probably hate Michigan too. That's why fans have been so worked up about TTUN cheating when it comes to the football program. Punishment hasn't come down from that quite yet.
The punishment did come down swiftly for Michigan's baseball team though. In a game involving Michigan and Iowa on the diamond, a Michigan pitcher was caught putting some sort of sticky substance on the baseball by umpires. They were notified of the odd behavior by the Iowa dugout.
As you can see in the video below, the Michigan pitcher puts his hand slightly down his pants before putting it on his glove and rubbing it. It's clear he's using some sort of substance to enhance spin on the ball. Take a look:
The umpires agreed that what he was doing was illegal and threw him out of the game. It definitely was the right call. Michigan players weren't happy about it, but Ohio State fans from far and wide had a field day with the video circulating on social media.
"If you ain't cheating, you ain't a Michigan man," said one user on Twitter. "For a school that acts so above everyone else, they sure like to cheat," said another. Fans were dunking on Michigan fans left and right. The Buckeyes would never do something like that.
You don't have to like the Ohio State Buckeyes to appreciate the irony of a Michigan pitcher getting thrown out for cheating in the middle of a game. That university loves to play the victim card when they do something wrong, but there was nothing they could do in this situation.
Baseball is a sport that has to deal with this stuff more often than the other sports. Still, I bet you don't see an Ohio State pitcher try to do something like that this year in a game.
