The Ohio State basketball team is still trying to win some games in the NIT right now. They have their second-round game on Saturday night against Virginia Tech. Quite frankly, they have a pretty good route to winning the tournament. That hasn't stopped them from looking ahead to next year though.

Jake Diebler is looking to improve his team so that he's playing in March Madness next year instead of just the NIT year. One of the ways that he can do that is by looking in the transfer portal for some talent. Basketball players flock to the portal at the end of every year.

The Buckeyes have shown interest in one player so far in the portal. They have shown interest in Toledo guard Ra'Heim Moss. Moss averaged 15.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1.7 steals for the Rockets. He also started every game but one in three seasons in Toledo.

Moss is a scoring guard who can certainly put it in the bucket. He shot 46% from the field last season, although he only shot it at 30.8% from three. The inefficiency from three is a concern, but he's a tall guard at 6'4 who would be a nice piece off the bench.

Moss has interest from several programs. According to him, he has interest from Oregon, Dayton, Loyola Chicago, Cincinnati, Arkansas, and the Ohio State basketball program. That's a wide spectrum of programs that have inquired about him.

It remains to be seen if Ohio State is interested enough in him to actually pursue him in the portal or not. Diebler will probably turn his full attention to that sort of thing once the season is over. Right now, he's focused on winning as many games as possible and trying to bring an NIT championship to Columbus.
