The first offseason for new head coach Jake Diebler is in full swing. While he’s filling out the rest of his coaching staff, the focus is also filling the remaining spots open in the roster. Diebler is taking a step towards doing that by going after one of the top transfers available in the transfer portal.

According to Travis Branham of 247Sports, Aaron Bradshaw is set to take an official visit to Ohio State this weekend. Bradshaw is a 7-1, 226-pound transfer from Kentucky that averaged 4.9 points and 3.3 rebounds in 13.7 minutes per game in his freshman year with the Wildcats.

Coming out of high school Bradshaw was the No. 1 center in the 2023 class, according to 247Sports, and the No. 5 overall prospect in the class. In the transfer portal, the former Kentucky big man ranks as the 36th overall transfer in the country.

During his lone season at Kentucky, Bradshaw was productive in his time on the floor with splits of 57.6% from the field and 28.6% from three on just 14 attempts. He also played in 26 games on the season, and in six of them, Bradshaw recorded double figures in points.

By recruiting Bradshaw, Diebler is looking to continue adding size to the roster for the next season, which definitely is not a bad idea. Bradshaw is a skilled big that has an extremely high ceiling and unlimited potential. He's long and athletic and has the ability to take and make the three. The young big is also a tremendous rim protector and can make his presence felt around the basket.

Since entering the transfer portal on Monday, Bradshaw has been highly sought after by other schools like Ohio State, and North Carolina has reached out to him as well. The possibility of him following his former coach, John Calipari, to Arkansas isn't completely out of the question either. Bradshaw is also planning to test the NBA waters by going through the NBA Draft process without hiring an agent.

In his first official offseason as head coach of the Ohio State basketball team, head coach Jake Diebler is trying to land a big splash from the transfer portal while still adding specific needs to the roster for next season. For a team that has lacked size the past few seasons, Bradshaw would turn it into a strength immediately.
